CompTIA's updated SY0-701 objective set goes live July 1, 2026 — 5 days away. If you've been studying with SY0-601 materials, you have gaps: AI-enabled threats, CMMC 2.0, Zero Trust, and supply chain security now carry real exam weight and aren't covered in SY0-601 prep. This 35-question gap check pinpoints exactly which new domains your materials missed. Instant score, no sign-up.
SY0-601 study guides skip four domains now live in the July 2026 SY0-701 update: generative AI security risks (prompt injection, deepfakes, adversarial ML), CMMC 2.0 compliance for DoD contractors, the PDP/PEP Zero Trust model, and SBOM-based supply chain security. Candidates relying on SY0-601 materials to prep for SY0-701 consistently find these gaps too late. This test uses 35 exam-style questions to surface exactly which new SY0-701 domains you're missing and how far off the passing threshold you are. Score below 70? The AI Report ($19) builds a personalised 14-day remediation plan targeting only your SY0-701 gaps — not topics you already know.

SY0-601 materials don't cover four domains now live in SY0-701: (1) AI-enabled threats — prompt injection, deepfake-based social engineering, adversarial ML attacks; (2) CMMC 2.0 — DoD contractor compliance levels, CUI requirements, NIST SP 800-171 mapping; (3) Zero Trust Architecture — the PDP/PEP enforcement model, microsegmentation, identity-centric access; (4) Supply chain security — SBOM, build pipeline integrity, third-party risk management. These gaps are tested on SY0-701 from July 1, 2026.
The full test (Hard mode) has 35 questions — 25 covering the five core SY0-701 domains (threats/attacks, architecture, implementation, operations/incident response, governance) plus 10 questions specifically targeting the new July 2026 additions: AI security, CMMC 2.0, Zero Trust, and supply chain.
SY0-601 and SY0-701 share ~70% of content in the five core domains, so prior study transfers substantially. The risk is the 30% of new material — especially AI-enabled threats and CMMC 2.0 — which SY0-601 prep doesn't address at all. This gap check tells you how exposed you are and what to close in the time you have left.
A score of 85–100 is Exam Ready. 70–84 is Almost Ready — targeted review on your identified gaps should close it in 1–2 weeks. Below 70 on the new domains specifically, the AI Report ($19) maps a personalised 14-day remediation plan to only your SY0-701 weak areas.
CompTIA's updated SY0-701 objective set becomes the live exam from July 1, 2026. The transition window (April 21 – June 30, 2026) when both SY0-601-era and new SY0-701 materials were accepted ends. After July 1, exams draw exclusively from the updated objective pool — AI, CMMC 2.0, Zero Trust, and supply chain questions become unavoidable.
