What this test covers

SY0-701 is Security+ V7, and it is still the current exam: CompTIA retires it on 11 June 2027 for English. The next version, V8 / SY0-801, launches on 17 November 2026 with a maximum of 90 questions in 90 minutes, a pass mark of 750 on a 100-900 scale, and expanded coverage of AI-related risk, security operations and modern environments. This readiness test is aligned to the current SY0-701 objective domains, so your score reflects the exam you can sit today — if you are booking after November, check which version you are being given. One thing to be clear about: this test is not weighted to the SY0-701 blueprint. It draws on Examifyr's general cybersecurity bank — the fundamentals Security+ is built on — so treat the score as a read on your security grounding rather than a predicted exam result.

Is this test aligned with the SY0-701 exam objectives?
Yes. Questions are mapped to the five SY0-701 domain areas — General Security Concepts, Threats/Vulnerabilities/Mitigations, Security Architecture, Security Operations, and Security Program Management — in approximate proportion to their exam weights.
How many questions are in the Security+ practice test?
The full readiness test (Hard mode) covers 25 questions across all domains. Easy mode focuses on fundamental concepts; Hard mode includes advanced threat vectors, cryptographic details, and policy/governance questions typical of the SY0-701.
How does the readiness score work?
Your answers are scored using Examifyr's weighted model (easy = 1pt, medium = 2pt, hard = 3pt), normalised to a 0–100 readiness score. You'll also see your accuracy per topic so you know exactly which SY0-701 domains need more study time.
How is SY0-701 different from the previous Security+ exam?
SY0-701 (launched November 2023) places more emphasis on hybrid environments, Zero Trust architecture, AI-enabled threats, and automation in security operations compared to SY0-601. The domain structure was also rebalanced — Security Operations now carries 28% of the exam weight.
What score means I am ready for the Security+ exam?
