What this test covers

SecAI+ (SY0-AI1) targets security practitioners who need to assess, mitigate, and govern AI-related risks. The exam bridges traditional security concepts (covered in Security+) with AI-specific attack surfaces: adversarial ML, data poisoning, model inversion, and AI supply-chain risks. This test draws from Examifyr's cybersecurity question bank — the foundation SecAI+ builds on.

AI Threat Landscape — adversarial attacks, data poisoning, model inversion
Securing AI Systems — hardening ML pipelines, API security, access control
AI Governance & Compliance — risk frameworks, bias audits, regulatory requirements
AI Ethics & Responsible Deployment — fairness, transparency, accountability
Core Cybersecurity Fundamentals — encryption, authentication, network security

Frequently asked questions

What is the CompTIA SecAI+ exam?

CompTIA SecAI+ (exam code SY0-AI1) launched February 17, 2026. It is the first vendor-neutral certification focused on AI security — assessing, securing, and governing AI systems. It targets security practitioners with 2+ years of experience who need to address AI-specific risks alongside traditional cybersecurity threats.

Is SecAI+ harder than Security+?

SecAI+ assumes Security+ knowledge as a baseline and adds AI-specific content on top. If you hold Security+ (SY0-601 or SY0-701) and have hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, the additional learning curve is the AI threat landscape and governance frameworks. This practice test covers both foundations.

How many questions are in this practice test?

The full test (Hard mode) includes 25 questions across cybersecurity fundamentals and AI-security topics. Easy mode covers the foundational security concepts; Hard mode includes advanced adversarial ML, AI governance, and multi-domain questions typical of the SecAI+ difficulty.

Do I need Security+ before taking SecAI+?

CompTIA recommends Security+ or equivalent knowledge before attempting SecAI+. SecAI+ is not entry-level — it targets practitioners already working in security who need to extend their skills to AI environments.

What score means I am ready for SecAI+?

A readiness score of 85+ (Exam Ready band) indicates strong foundational knowledge. SecAI+ adds AI-specific content on top — use your topic breakdown to identify which areas need more study before booking. The AI Report ($19) maps your weak areas directly to SecAI+ exam objectives.
